3 Easy Hair Care Tips For Pregnant Ladies

When you are carrying a bun in your oven, hair care and personal care takes a backseat, as all you think during those crucial months is about morning sickness, prenatal vitamins, baby bump growth, nursery decoration, baby scan clinic’s appointments, and labor pain.
Well, hair care is as important as any other things related to pregnancy. Hormonal changes during pregnancy and post-pregnancy have an impact on the hair’s texture, so it’s always better to be safe than sorry and take extra care of your crowning glory.

Follow these below-mentioned hair care tips if you’re a would-be momma:

Warm Oil Massage:

Oiling was important, is important, and will always be important. So, don’t even think of skipping an oil massage during your pregnancy because an oil massage relieves stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Also, oil is the food for your hair. Warm the oil either by a double-boiler method or microwave your preferred oil ( coconut, almond, jojoba, castor, mustard, olive or 1 tbsp of all the mentioned oils) for 10 seconds. Give a nice scalp massage and get a good sleep.

Washing Your Hair:

Washing your hair twice a week is sufficient. Always choose a shampoo that suits your hair and try your best to avoid harsh chemicals and fragrance as strong-smelling chemicals are a big no during pregnancy. Also, never rub the scalp vigorously with your fingernails. You should use a hair conditioner after every hair wash session because conditioner smoothens your hair tresses and prevent split ends to some degree.

DIY Deep Conditioning Mask:

A hair mask that deeply conditions your beautiful mane is a “go for it” choice. Many brands do sell hair masques but when it comes to my beautiful golden tresses, I always prefer a homemade mask and religiously apply it once a week. Here are my favourite few deep-conditioning hair mask recipes for you to try:
  • Banana hair mask- Mix 1 banana with 1 tbsp of coconut oil, olive oil, and honey. Apply it and wash it after half an hour with plain water.
  • Egg and yogurt hair mask- Crack an egg in a bowl filled with 2 tbsps of yogurt and whisk properly. Apply the mask and wash it off after an hour.
  • Avocado hair mask: Scoop out the inside of a ripe avocado, mash it properly. Add 1 tbsp of virgin olive oil or coconut oil, 1 tbsp of honey and one entire egg to create a thick mixture. Keep the mixture on your hair for 30-45 minutes, and wash it off preferably with a mild shampoo.
If you follow these 3 simple yet effective hair care tips in your pregnancy hair care routine, be assured that your hair will always be happy just like your little bun. Also, be gentle with your hair and take a break from blow-drying, colouring, and other permanent treatments while you are pregnant. Another thing, do not forget to schedule regular appointments at an ultrasound baby scan clinic in Aylesbury.
